Houston Herniated Disc Treatment
The spinal discs are soft spongy pads between the bones or vertebrae. They act as shock absorbers for the spinal column and keep the spine flexible. If the discs are damaged, it can start to bulge or fissure. The discs may also herniate due to “wear and tear” of aging or due to trauma. Depending on where the disc herniates, it may put pressure on a nerve root.
Herniated discs can occur in the cervical, thoracic or lumbar spine. Most herniated discs respond well to conservative care and do not require surgery. Chiropractors are uniquely qualified to treat your herniated disc without drugs or surgery. If medication or surgery is necessary, then the appropriate referral will be made. Patients who have already had a previous surgery respond well to chiropractic and can help prevent the possibility of a second herniation. As a board certified clear lake chiropractor, Dr. Beecher can accurately diagnosis your herniated disc, correct the problem if possible and design to treatment program to help prevent a possible reoccurrence.
